POSITION SUMMARY

Manage activities of the inside sales staff of the Transportation Systems Division (TSD). Develop and implement marketing and sales plans and provide input to strategic initiatives to achieve division bookings and sales goals and objectives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Manage day-to-day sales activities of the Inside Sales Department. Lead staff according to Company policies and procedures to effectively achieve Division objectives. Develop employees by training, cross training, and providing continuing education opportunities. Conduct performance reviews and provide input for salary decisions.
• Manage all division bidding activities, coordinating cross-functional teams to develop compliant, competitive, and profitable proposals that support strategic business growth objectives.
• Supervise contract negotiations and negotiate sales contracts directly where needed. Ensure the best possible Terms and Conditions are negotiated on TSD’s behalf.
• Create customer sales proposals, including preparation of proposal documentation.
• Conduct market research to identify trends, competitive threats, growth opportunities, and qualified prospective customers within the Division’s target markets.
• Create sales presentation materials. Coordinate internal and external resources to gather required technical and market information to prepare effective presentation materials.
• Organize virtual or in-person product demos or presentations to showcase the features, benefits, and value proposition of the Division's products or services.
• Partner with Corporate Marketing to identify industry conferences and trade shows, and support TSD’s commercial website with content, technical expertise, business direction, and strategic messaging.
• Assist with developing and executing the sales plan.
• Manage sales administration activities, including CRM updates, sales report preparation, and tracking sales activities and performance metrics.
• Further the goals and positive, professional image of the Transportation Systems Division by conducting business with other MEPPI divisions, visitors, and callers in a timely and cooperative manner.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Marketing, or Business with a minimum of 7 years of experience in rail transit industry sales/marketing and a minimum 5 years of management experience, or equivalent education and experience.
• Advanced interpersonal communication, presentation and negotiation skills required to communicate with employees, vendors, and customers.
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to organize activities and work well in a team environment.
• Advanced computer skills with emphasis on Microsoft Office products
