Production Assistant, FOX Weather

Production AssistantFOX Weather is looking for a Production Assistant to join our team in New York. In this role, you'll support live programming by helping producers and meteorologists bring breaking weather stories to air. You'll pitch stories, compile research, coordinate video and graphic elements, edit video, write graphics, source compelling user-generated content, and contribute to our social media presence. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has a passion for weather and live news.A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIESSupport producers and meteorologists by researching stories and preparing visual elements for live programmingAttend editorial meetings and help identify the strongest video, graphics, and storytelling opportunitiesSource, verify, and clear compelling user-generated content from social media and other platformsIngest, log, and edit video and sound bitesWrite clear, accurate lower thirds, banners, and video graphics with close attention to detailUse Adobe Premiere to edit video and graphics for airCoordinate with reporters and producers to manage production elements for live shots and looklivesStay up to date on breaking weather events and newsroom prioritiesAssist the production team with other editorial and production needs as assignedWHAT YOU WILL NEEDBachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent experienceInternship or professional experience in a newsroom, broadcast, or digital production environmentBasic video editing experience using Adobe Premiere or similar non-linear editing softwareStrong writing, communication, and organizational skillsAbility to multitask, prioritize, and perform under tight deadlines in a breaking news environmentProficiency with social media platformsPassion for weather news is a plusWe are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, gender identity, disability, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
