Specialist Speech and Language Therapist – Band 6 Grade Band 6, Permanent, Full time – 37.5 hours per week, Contractual – Salary £39,959 – £48,117 per annum (pro rata for part time). Job Reference: 186-383-26-MH-A Employer: Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust Job Overview You will work within the CAMHS Community Multidisciplinary Team providing specialist speech and language therapy to children and young people. Select candidates will have experience as a B5/B6 SLT, a current Band 6 SLT looking to broaden specialist skills, or an SLT entering CAMHS for the first time. Main Duties Carry out individual Speech and Language Therapy assessments and produce reports and recommendations for implementing communication reasonable adjustments. Provide specific speech and language therapy interventions to individuals where appropriate. Offer liaison and advice to families, carers, education and health care colleagues in supporting CYP with SLCN with or without neurodevelopmental differences to facilitate reasonable adjustments and increase service access. Contribute to the identification of speech, language and communication needs and highlight communication risks. Deliver bespoke therapeutic interventions to service users, carers and families, the MDT and other agencies. Participate in training, advice, liaison and the management of the service. Contractual & Physical Requirements Ability to travel between sites, patients’ homes and educational settings. A full UK driving licence and vehicle for business use is required. Ability to perform the full range of duties. Qualifications, Experience & Skills Qualifications Recognised SLT degree/diploma/masters (pre‑reg). Registered with RCSLT and HCPC. Experience Experience assessing and managing caseloads within a clinical area. Experience of effective multi‑disciplinary/agency working. Experience of supporting staff groups to understand communication issues. Experience delivering a variety of approaches to SLT service delivery. Experience developing evaluation/audit tools and resources. Experience delivering learning and development opportunities for others. Knowledge Knowledge of SLT delivery including use of varied approaches and multi‑disciplinary working. Knowledge of national policies and procedures relevant to the client group. Knowledge of assessments and interventions for Developmental Language Disorder, Autism, Learning Disabilities (IDD) and neuro‑developmental conditions. Knowledge of assessments and interventions for SEMH and Autism. Skills Empathetic and psychologically minded. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Well‑organised and good reasoning skills. Motivated, an enthusiastic team builder and member. Ability to manage own well‑being with supervision. Professional Development & DBS Portfolio of relevant post‑qualification CPD and post‑basic dysphagia training or completed competencies. Applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. DBS costs will be deducted from salary over the first two months. Annual fee of £16 applies for DBS Update Service.
