Part Time Youth Program Coordinator St. Kateri Center

The Youth Program Coordinator develops and manages the St. Kateri Native Youth Program. In this work, the coordinator promotes positive family and peer relationships.

This position is based on grant resources and must meet the requirements of the grants.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and implement events and programming for Youth programming that meet the goals and objectives of the grants.
• Provide Monthly Meal plans for youth program as approved by budget.
• Collaborate and communicate with community agencies and organizations that support youth programming.
• Develop partnership opportunities to recruit and increase Youth Participants.
• Work hands-on with programs, activities and special events as needed.
• Perform administrative duties which support the Youth programs.
• Maintain sign-in sheets for each program or event.
• Attend regular meetings with Director and Leadership Circle Members.
• Continue to encourage all youth to be engaged and participating in programs.
• Research, develop, and propose comprehensive programs for the youth to grow culturally in the Native American Community and develop leadership skills.
• Advocate for Native Youth at external engagements.
• Able to educate others on the life of St. Kateri.
• Develop events to inspire and motivate young people in an understanding of social justice and service.
• Recruit, train, and manage volunteers for Youth programs.
• Communicate programs and progress with Director, Leadership Circle, parents, youth, and volunteers through verbal, electronic, and written communication.
• Participate in and/or attend workshops/conferences that provide Professional Development

Requirements:

• Clear written and verbal communication skills
• Computer Skills - Outlook, Microsoft Office
• Encouraging and supportive skills in working with youth
• Team-oriented and able to work independently
• Good relationship-building skills
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Knowledge of Native American culture and traditions
• Open to and supportive of Christian values and faith
• The candidate must pass state Criminal Record History Clearance and Virtus Training
• Associate degree in human resources or social science or 2 to 3-year experience working with youth

This position has a hourly range of $20.91 - $25.09. An employee’s pay within the range will be based on many factors including but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and organizational needs.
