Senior Data EngineerOur client is one of the world's largest privately held investment management firms, overseeing hundreds of billions in assets and investing heavily in a firm-wide technology transformation.Historically reliant on legacy vendor platforms, the organization is now building modern, in-house technology capabilities from the ground up. This includes cloud migration, data platform modernization, AI enablement, and the development of next-generation investment and business applications. With a recently appointed CTO driving the vision, there is significant executive sponsorship and investment behind the technology roadmap.What You'll DoDesign, build, and scale enterprise data platforms that support critical investment and business workflowsLead the development of modern data pipelines and data products within a cloud-based ecosystemDrive Snowflake architecture, optimization, and best practices across the organizationPartner closely with engineering, data, business, and investment stakeholders to translate complex requirements into scalable solutionsMentor engineers and help establish standards across a growing internal technology organizationContribute to greenfield initiatives involving cloud technologies, data modernization, and AI-driven capabilitiesWhat We're Looking For10+ years of data engineering experience in complex, data-intensive environmentsDeep expertise with Snowflake, including data modeling, performance optimization, and platform architectureStrong SQL and modern data engineering fundamentalsExperience building data platforms in Azure, AWS, or GCP environmentsProficiency with Python and modern engineering practicesExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work directly with senior business and technology leadersExperience operating in highly collaborative, fast-paced environments undergoing technology transformationTechnology EnvironmentSnowflakePythonSQLAzure (AWS and GCP experience also valued)React / TypeScript ecosystemAI / GenAI / LLM initiativesWhy Join?Opportunity to help shape the future technology landscape of a premier investment management firmSignificant greenfield engineering work rather than maintaining legacy systemsStrong executive backing for modernization and innovationHigh-impact role with visibility across the organizationCompetitive compensation package with total compensation typically around $300K+Location: Primarily San Francisco, with select opportunities available in Boston.
