Field Service Technician - CV III

A Field Service Technician – CV III will be skilled and understand the purpose and principles of operating control valves. This role is responsible for installation, connection, servicing, testing, adjustment, repair, maintenance, removal, troubleshooting, inspection and replacement of control valves. Responsibilities: All additional job responsibilities of a Field Service Technician - CV I & II Support Field Service Technician - CV I & II employees through mentoring and on- the-job (OJT) training Performs final quality inspection of valve and equipment Potentially assume role as Field Supervisor Extensive Knowledge of applicable code requirements Performs repair, service, maintenance and assembly operations while maintaining safety and quality as a top priority in and around mechanical, industrial and electrical equipment Demonstrates sound judgment with the ability to make decisions and corrections when problems are identified or detected when servicing control valves in the field Ensures all products repaired/assembled meet the quality standards in accordance with procedures, engineering specifications, drawings, and work instructions Performs functional tests as required Collects data and documents and prepares detailed reports for customer review, billing records, and expense reporting Assumes responsibility and handles multiple tasks under potentially stressful and hazardous conditions Adheres to all policies and procedures Practices safe work habits to ensure an injury free environment Uses physical force to lift, push, pull, and hold equipment and tools Climbs and works at various heights, sometimes working in a standing, sitting, lying down, crouched, or kneeling position Routinely reacts to visual, aural, and other signals, including alarms and instructions, and is required to visually inspect work Be on the job and available to work overtime, at times for extended periods of time based on seasonal customer demands Operate motor vehicle, as required Attend job and safety training, as necessary or required Any job duties as assigned by supervisor or manager Positional Requirements & Qualifications: Education & Experience HS Education or GED Equivalent a plus Associates degree preferred 5 or more years of industry experience Minimum of 3 to 5 years of control valve experience Skills & Abilities Meets all Control Valve Technician I & II qualifications and requirements Proficient in Control Valve Technician I & II responsibilities Successful completion of all applicable Quality Standardization Procedures Completed MARC III certification Completed QC assessment Successful completion of Control Valve Level III Written and Performance Tests Experienced trainer of Control Valve Technicians Level I & II Working knowledge and proficiency of leading manufacturer control valve lines Basic OSHA and TWIC card (TWIC, only if required) Ability to manage multiple tasks within a fast paced environment Ability to manage people Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management, customers and other employees Ability to prepare detailed reports and correspondence that are clear and intelligible Demonstrated “can do” attitude and excellent customer service skills Customer driven/focused Team oriented and willing to lead others High energy, detail oriented Ability to read and interpret documents such as master schedule, safety rules, operating instructions, drawings/prints and procedure manuals Sound judgment with the ability to make decisions and corrections when problems are detected Ability to work independently and/or in team assignments Strong safety record and knowledge of safety rules and practices Ability and willingness to work overtime as needed to support customer requirements and seasonal business volume Strong history of dependability and reliability Supervision: Works mostly autonomously with little supervision Must be able to travel and have a clear driving record in accordance to company driving guidelines Clear background check and drug/alcohol screening Willing and able to lift and work with personal protective equipment, including emergency breathing apparatus Essential Physical Functions: Lifting: up to 50 pounds Adjusting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directions Lift and carry: 50 pounds for 100 feet Bending, stooping, walking and climbing stairs Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another Communicating with others to exchange information Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers Operating machinery and/or power tools Operating motor vehicles or heavy equipment Assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned Required physical ability if mandated by customer or regulatory requirements Able to hold body weight while swinging on rope during static and dynamic transfer (offshore) #J-18808-Ljbffr Valsource
