Supports Social & Advertising Teams • Remote • Reports to Sr. Manager of Operations & The BTC Show

THE ROLE

Want to design for some of the world’s biggest names in beauty? Behindthechair.com is looking for a Graphic Designer to serve as the visual engine behind both our Social and Advertising teams. You’ll create bespoke work for top global haircare brands such as Redken, Matrix, Paul Mitchell, and Olaplex — from high-impact email campaigns and influencer box designs to digital ads, social content, print pieces, and logos — all in service of bringing brands to life across BTC’s massive global platform.

You’ll collaborate with our Social Media Associate, Paid Media Manager, account managers, and influencer team to deliver campaigns that are both beautiful and effective, designing across a wide variety of formats to help global brands connect with hairdressers worldwide.

REPORTING & COLLABORATION

This role reports to the Sr. Manager of Operations & The BTC Show, with overall creative direction and vision set by our CEO and Founder, Mary Rector. You’ll work closely with Mary on strategy and partner daily across our Social, Advertising, and Editorial teams to deliver cohesive, on-brand work.

As a shared resource, you’ll produce assets for both the Social team (organic and paid social creative) and the Advertising team (client campaigns), prioritizing across both with guidance from the Sr. Manager of Operations.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Social & Digital

• Develop social assets for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and other platforms in partnership with the Social Media Associate.

• Design banner ads, digital campaigns, and paid social creative for client activations, taking creative direction from the Paid Media Manager.

Email & Campaigns

• Design and build high-converting email campaigns for top haircare brands.

• Ensure creative is visually compelling with a strong call to action and modern design.

Advertising & Influencer

• Create beauty box designs for influencer programs for manufacturer clients such as Redken and Paul Mitchell who are sampling new products.

• Design print pieces, product packaging, event branding, and logos for client campaigns.

WHO YOU ARE

• B.A. in Graphic Design (or equivalent) with 3–5 years of experience in digital and print design.

• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Adobe Express, Dreamweaver) on Mac.

• Basic HTML/CSS knowledge for web and email design.

• Strong conceptual thinker with excellent typography, branding, and layout expertise.

• Experienced in designing for social, digital ads, and print.

• Organized, deadline-driven, and able to juggle multiple projects across two teams.

• Great communicator and team player, with a passion for design and beauty.

• Experience with Figma, Sketch, or other UX/UI tools is a plus.

• Familiarity with Canva, Klaviyo, Mailchimp, or HubSpot is a bonus.

This is a remote role. Travel to BTC events a few times a year.

WHAT WE OFFER

• Salary Range: $55,000–$70,000 annually; final compensation will depend on experience and qualifications.
