Certified Athletic Trainer - Physician Practice

Job Summary As an Athletic Trainer in the Clinic, you will assist the provider by accurately determining and communicating the patient’s current and prior medical condition, support the Orthopedic Sports Medicine department, and help maintain smooth patient flow through services received. Responsibilities Write and document provider notes including HPI, physical exam, diagnostic review, discussion/summary, and medical or work excuses. Assist with patient rooming, complete clinical intake, and perform scribe duties for the provider. Enter orders for x‑rays, additional workup studies (MRI, CT, EMG), and medications under provider supervision, following LVPG protocol and standard. Review the daily schedule and communicate any changes or adjustments to the provider, including rescheduling and equipment availability confirmations. Demonstrate knowledge of anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, and nutrition as it applies to patient care. Perform supporting functions for orthopedic providers, including suturing/removal, casting, bracing, splinting, DME and crutch fitting, and dispensing. Draw needles for the provider and assist with injection procedures. Assist with surgical communication tools and other supportive tasks as needed. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training or Exercise Physiology from a CAATE accredited program. Licensure: Athletic Trainer BOC, State of Pennsylvania, within one year of hire. American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification, State of Pennsylvania. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, educate patients on exercise instruction, and coordinate care with other health care providers. Travel within 50 miles of home as required. Preferred Qualifications Master’s Degree in Athletic Training or Exercise Physiology from a CAATE accredited program. Physical Demands Lift and move up to 50 lbs. (push/pull up to 140 lbs.; carry 80 lbs. short distances). Frequent standing, walking, squatting, kneeling, crawling, climbing, and reaching overhead.
