Relief Veterinary Technician - Emergency

BluePearl Pet Hospital – Veterinary Technician (Emergency & Critical Care) BluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring experienced Veterinary Technicians to work in our busy Emergency and Critical Care department. Compensation Pay: $20.00 - $40.50 per hour. Starting pay depends on experience and advancement through our competency leveling system. Candidates with VTS credentialing are eligible for higher compensation commensurate with experience. Responsibilities Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia in patients and operate anesthesia/monitoring equipment. Triage emergency cases on arrival, obtain vitals such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure. Perform digital radiography with proper positioning of patients. Maintain a complete understanding of normal ranges of vital signs: heart rate, respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation. Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs and alert the veterinarian to changes and issues. Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR. Calculate medical equations (including constant rate infusions) and administer medications via appropriate routes and durations. Perform phlebotomy and place intravenous catheters in all peripheral vessels. Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters. Mentor and train other co‑workers.
