Your next great chapter starts here.Job Summary:The General Maintenance Worker is responsible for general maintenance and repair services of the hospital buildings, physical plant, equipment, offices, and patient care areas. Duties include fixing and maintaining machines, mechanical equipment, and buildings. Responsibilities also include repairing, flooring/carpeting; working on plumbing, electrical, and air-conditioning/heating systems; and helping with painting jobs.What you'll bring to the team:Knowledge working with materials, equipment, and tools related to plumbing, electrical, HVAC codes/systems, and carpentry workKnowledge of state and local codes and standards; and safety and compliance regulations, including the OSHA & DNVAbility to read blueprints and mechanical drawingsAccurately estimate materials required to complete projectsAbility to maintain accurate repair and maintenance recordsAbility to operate a variety of hand and power tools in a safe and effective mannerSkilled in communicating (verbal and written) and obtaining clear and concise information, and to understand/accept directionsAbility to maintain a constant, safe, and organized area while working with string attention to detailAbility to work cooperatively and effectively in group/team settingLicensure and certification:A valid CA driver's license requiredApplicable license/certification related to assigned work area preferredEducation:High School diploma or GED requiredCompletion of trade or vocational program in building maintenance or related field, or related field; 1 years equivalent experience may be substituted for formal education requirementsExperience:Minimum 1 years of related work experience; preferably in healthcare settingPreferred experience working with standard practices, procedures, and tools in the general building/maintenance trades
