Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor and Delivery

Join our dynamic team in the Family Birth Center, specializing in both low and high-risk deliveries. Our facility features:

• 19 Postpartum beds
• 12 Labor and Delivery beds
• 2 Operating Rooms
• 1 Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)

The Registered Nurse will be responsible for:

• Monitoring and managing patients during labor and delivery
• Providing high-quality care to both mothers and newborns
• Collaborating with a team of healthcare professionals, including in-house Laborists
• Utilizing Cerner and Fetal Link for electronic medical records and fetal monitoring

Shift hours: 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM and 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM. Weekend requirement: 3 weekend shifts within a 4-week schedule. Holidays: Rotating schedule with permanent staff.

Upon hiring, new staff members will undergo a floor-specific orientation lasting:

• 3 shifts if capable of circulating in the operating room
• 2 shifts if not capable of circulating

Our team is equipped to handle:

• Low and high-risk deliveries, with a dedicated Level III NICU for specialized cases
• Transfer of patients requiring immediate surgical intervention for congenital defects

Staff may be required to float to pediatrics, taking on couplet care or assisting in the NICU with feeders and growers, provided they have prior experience.

Peak patient volumes typically occur in July and October. The facility operates with a clinical supervisor 6 to 7 days a week and offers support from a 24/7 Respiratory Therapy and Pharmacy team. There is an IV team available for specialized care.
