Assistant Service Manager - Arlington, VA (Altaire Apts.)

Altaire Apartments is seeking an experienced Assistant Service Manager to join our team in Arlington, VA. The Assistant Service Manager will assist the Service Manager in overseeing the physical assets, safety, general maintenance repairs, apartment make‑readies, preventative maintenance and construction or rehabilitation projects for our apartment community/building. They will also maintain adequate inventory of supplies for repairs, monitor the monthly maintenance budget, and oversee the maintenance staff. Additionally, they will anticipate, identify, and correct any problems involving the community and work with the Community Manager to implement preventive procedures. Key skills, experience, and qualifications: Minimum 2 years of general maintenance experience in residential community management and 1 year of supervisory experience preferred. Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire protection, elevators, and energy management systems (VRF experience preferred). Track record of building, developing, and retaining high‑performance service teams. Track record of building and maintaining strong relationships with residents, ownership groups, and vendors. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Experience using Yardi or other property management software. Proficiency with computer and email. Professional appearance.
