What You'll Do

• Provide compassionate, expert nursing care to diverse patient populations on the PCU/Med/Surg Telemetry unit
• Monitor and assess patients with conditions such as respiratory failure, sepsis, stroke, DKA, post-heart cath, and post-aortogram/arteriogram
• Administer medications, including drips such as Levophed, Amiodarone, and Insulin, managingCVL, arterial lines, Foley caths, tube feedings, and IV therapy
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans
• Pass an EKG competency assessment prior to start and maintain high standards of patient safety and documentation
• Float between units (Stroke, Med/Surg) as needed, with flexibility for unit coverage and staffing needs
• Maintain compliance with hospital protocols and infection control policies

What You Need
Required:

• Active RN license in State and certifications in BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care RN experience in Med/Surg or PCU settings
• Ability to pass an EKG competency exam and perform advanced patient assessments
• Strong skills in patient monitoring, medication management, and equipment management (CVL, arterial lines, tube feedings)

Preferred:

• Experience with stroke or cardiology patients
• Flexibility with shift schedules and unit utilization
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
