About the Role

Oakes Auto Group is seeking a motivated, dependable, and service-driven Oakes Direct Lead to oversee the daily operations of our Oakes Direct team. This leadership position is responsible for supporting the Oakes Direct Manager by coordinating daily transportation activities, providing guidance to drivers, ensuring operational efficiency, and maintaining exceptional customer service standards. The Oakes Direct Lead serves as the primary point of contact for the team during daily operations and assumes leadership responsibilities when the manager is unavailable. This role combines hands-on transportation responsibilities with team leadership, coaching, scheduling support, and problem-solving to help ensure vehicles are delivered safely, efficiently, and on time. What You'll Do

• Lead the daily operations of the Oakes Direct team by coordinating vehicle deliveries, pickups, and transportation schedules while ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and on time.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for Oakes Direct Drivers by providing leadership, coaching, support, and direction throughout the workday while assisting with training and onboarding new team members.
• Step into the Manager's responsibilities when needed by making day-to-day operational decisions, resolving scheduling conflicts, addressing customer concerns, and communicating with dealership leadership.
• Safely transport customer vehicles, dealership inventory, auction purchases, and vendor vehicles while representing Oakes Auto Group with professionalism during every interaction.
• Assist with vehicle inspections, fueling, jump starts, light vehicle preparation, documentation, and ensuring vehicles are delivery-ready while helping maintain an organized and efficient operation.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license with a clean or acceptable driving record.
• Ability to pass a standard background check.
• Strong reliability and consistent attendance.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
• Basic computer skills and willingness to learn new systems.
• Previous leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience preferred.
• Experience driving a variety of vehicle makes and models preferred.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Reliable transportation and dependable means of communication.
