Sales Development Program Sales Associate - Fluid Solutions

Job Overview As a Sales Associate on our Fluid Solutions team, you’ll embark on a structured training path designed to prepare you for a future role as an Outside Sales Representative. You will work alongside industry experts and gain hands‑on experience with our technical products while developing the relationship‑building skills that drive customer success. Responsibilities Begin training at a local branch, shadowing sales and operational roles to gain a full understanding of the equipment‑rental lifecycle. Complete the digital onboarding class and sharpen sales technique in a collaborative training environment. Participate in outbound sales campaigns across construction verticals, customer spend levels, and equipment categories. Master United Rentals sales tools, including CRM, inventory management platforms, customer portal, and mobile applications. Lead high‑level sales conversations, including price negotiations, multi‑piece rental requests, government and educational agreements, equipment service contracts, and sale of used equipment at the end of its rental life. Apply proven sales methodologies to deliver solutions and drive revenue growth. Engage in local team initiatives such as safety huddles, customer appreciation events, equipment yard sales, and team‑building workshops. Track Sales Development progress through achievement levels, real‑time metrics, and weekly competitions. Receive daily feedback from corporate and local leadership, call coaching sessions, and ride‑alongs to jobsites. Develop sales strategies for accounts and create realistic timelines to achieve goals. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. Experience in a customer‑facing sales role preferred. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Strong teamwork and collaboration skills. Proficient computer and mobile phone/tablet skills. Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
