Sr. Accountant

A VACO client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to support the financial operations of their growing construction business. This role will play a critical part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, managing project accounting, supporting month‑end close activities, and helping drive financial performance across multiple construction projects. Key Responsibilities Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Manage the month‑end and year‑end close processes. Maintain general ledger accounts and perform account reconciliations. Oversee construction job costing and project accounting activities. Review project budgets, costs, and revenue recognition for accuracy. Monitor work‑in‑progress (WIP) schedules and support financial forecasting. Assist with cash flow management and financial planning. Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies. Support external audits, tax preparation, and regulatory reporting. Partner with project managers and operational leaders to provide financial insights and recommendations. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accounting efficiency and controls.
