POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a Design Engineer I in St. Charles, MO. The role reports to a project manager or engineering leader and provides design support for specified portions of larger projects. Responsibilities include developing aircraft structural layouts and designing individual components, assemblies, and installations. Tasks may also involve limited design and integration of aircraft mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, environmental control systems and other equipment.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Apply standard engineering practices and innovative methodologies to solve problems with limited variables. Focus on existing products and processes. Research and develop limited structural engineering layouts. Create conceptual layouts and designs of components, assemblies, and installations. Be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the engineering field. Utilize CATIA V5 engineering design software at a basic to intermediate level. Exercise judgment within defined procedures to determine appropriate action. Work on problems of moderate scope requiring analysis of identifiable factors. Provide creativity and initiative when necessary. Perform other duties as required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCES

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Engineering, or related field required; 0‑4 years of experience in aerospace or related industry. Working knowledge of CATIA V5, Solidworks, or other 3D design software preferred. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
