The lists below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.Minimum Qualifications:Education: Minimum High School Graduate/College PreferredYears of Experience: 5-7 years minimum; 2-3 years for a roofing companyCertifications: OSHA-30; First Aid/CPR/Bloodborne pathogen training; may require other specific equipment license or trainingDriver's License: RequiredComputer – Experienced with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and SchedulingMust speak English, Spanish is a plusKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Extensive knowledge and experience in various types of residential roofingMotivated and professionalStrong organizational and writing skillsAbility to manage several ongoing jobsA passion for customer service and teamworkA proven track record of managing projects from start to finish- budgeting, production, costs, materials, etc.Essential Functions:Review contract before execution, compare with proposal/estimate, and flag all discrepanciesReview and approve shop drawings and submittals – make recommendations for changes if necessary and review wind uplift requirementsEnsure warranties have been applied for, work permits and job contract are in place and has been fully executed before any materials are released or work is performed on-site (Note: Exception to proceeding before contract can only be made by owner of Baker Roofing)Ensure that Superintendent job file has been prepared and job is planned out with the field staff before work beginsSchedule and attend pre-planning sessions with General Contractor and/or homeownerSchedule pre-roofing conference before roofing work beginsCoordinate work schedule with clients and subcontractors and inform Superintendent of all changes in the scheduleMaintain job site records, daily reports, delay requests and weather reports as requiredMonitor job progress – provide input to assist with production reports and monitoring job costs: report to Department Head weekly regarding job cost statusReview and approve time sheets for completeness and accuracy based on GPS reportsResolve problems and issues that may arise – including both technical and contractualProvide support to Superintendent as required for materials, schedule, and cost informationPrepare estimates for minor change orders and provide information/support to Estimators for major change ordersMaintain a change order status log and keep Accounts Receivables informed of all pending and approved change ordersSubmit monthly billings based on contract requirementsAttend meetings at main office and on site as requiredReview and approve time sheets for completeness and accuracy based on GPS reportsResolve problems and issues that may arise – includes both technical and contractualAttend weekly Department Team meetings, provide status reports / cost information on current jobs for review and discussionCost control – projection of final costs expected for each job prior to monthly "jobs in progress" meeting with accountingAssume responsibility for total project preparation, execution and close outResponsible for purchase order's, requisitions, and consolidated delivery formsPhysical Demands:Requires standing up for long periods of timeRequires climbing ladders, scaffolds, and stairwaysRequires considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body in order to climb, lift, balance, walk, and handle materialsRequires use of abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without giving out or fatiguingRequires seeing details at close rangeRequires repetitive movement, bending or twisting, kneeling, crouching, stooping or crawlingRequires ability to stand, walk, lift, and carry items weighing 50 pounds regularlyWork Environment:Requires working in extremely bright or inadequate lighting conditions, in very hot (above 90 F degrees) or very cold (below 32 F degrees) temperatures, including exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortableIncludes exposure to contaminants, hazardous material, or equipmentMistakes are not easily correctable and have serious consequences, therefore safety procedures need to be followedRequires exposure to minor burns, cuts, bites, or stingsRequires exposure to high places or dangerous conditionsDisclaimer:The statements herein are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification.
