Booker T. Washington Community Service Center (BTWCSC) is one of the Bay Area’s oldest Black-led, Black-serving nonprofit organizations, with 106 years of service to San Francisco. A beacon of Black joy and self-determination, we have nurtured over five generations of Black San Franciscans. We stand embedded as an anchor institution, fostering intergenerational bonds and working in solidarity with allied communities to reform and reimagine a more inclusive San Francisco. We prioritize serving the Black community, and we welcome all individuals from all cultures and ages, from 0 to 99, who walk through our door. We are one of the few urban spaces where anyone in the community can access comprehensive services, ranging from a hot meal to childcare, academic support, and senior services.
Summary:
The Booker T. Washington Community Service Center (BTWCSC) seeks a highly reliable, collaborative, and results-driven Teen Coordinator to support our dynamic, multi-service organization as we expand and strengthen our teen programming. This position is part of our K–TAY Youth (Kindergarten to Transitional Aged Youth) Department and reports directly to the Youth Programs Manager.
The Teen Coordinator will be responsible for providing programmatic, operational, and administrative support for all teen program activities. This role oversees the day-to-day operations of an expanding teen program, creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for high school youth in San Francisco’s Fillmore and Western Addition neighborhoods.
The Teen Coordinator will design and implement programs that center the experiences of youth of color, with a focus on supporting teens’ academic success, leadership development, and overall well-being. - Social Justice and Community Engagement
The Teen Coordinator also plays a key role in operational effectiveness and program success by collaborating with colleagues across BTWCSC to support events, field trips, enrichment partnerships, and intergenerational activities. As part of the K–TAY team, the Coordinator contributes to program quality, family engagement, and data reporting, ensuring that programming meets grant requirements and reflects BTWCSC’s mission of being a beacon of Black joy, self-determination, and community connection.

- Conduct surveys, assessments and focus groups to gather teen input and insights for program development and planning.
- Conduct outreach to recruit and register new participants, particularly in the Fillmore & Western Addition neighborhoods.
- Develop and maintain partnerships with schools, community organizations, subcontractors, and vendors to strengthen programming.
- Ensure compliance with BTWCSC policies, licensing, and safety protocols, including classroom ratios, emergency procedures, and citywide safety standards.
