Transform Lives Through Communication in the Vibrant Heart of Missouri – Become a Speech Language Pathologist
Imagine a career where each day you have the power to amplify voices and foster connections. As a Speech Language Pathologist in the lively community of St. Louis, you won't just treat disorders; you will unlock potential, restore self-esteem, and forge lasting connections among individuals from the start of their journey to their golden years.
This position represents a remarkable opportunity to work with a diverse array of clients, ranging from young children developing their first words to seniors striving for independence. With a blend of outpatient therapy and occasional inpatient support, your role promises both fulfillment and flexibility. Whether your passion is pediatric language development, adult neurogenic communication disorders, or geriatric cognitive rehabilitation, you will find your place to shine here.
Conduct evaluations for pediatric, adult, and geriatric clients through standardized assessments and careful observations.
Create customized treatment plans that target immediate goals and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements.
Deliver individualized speech therapy interventions with a primary focus on communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
Work collaboratively alongside physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, and families to forge holistic care strategies.
Educate patients and their families to support progress beyond clinical sessions.
Participate in occasional inpatient speech therapy assessments and interventions, maintaining a seamless continuum of care.
Ensure accurate documentation in compliance with state, federal, and organizational regulations.
Stay abreast of advancements in the field through ongoing education and peer collaboration.
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) required if not yet ASHA-certified.
State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of hiring.
Expertise in evidence-based treatment methods suitable for all ages, along with a solid grasp of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
Exemplary interpersonal skills for communicating with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
Ability to tailor therapy approaches to accommodate diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
Strong clinical judgment and adept problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with electronic medical records and adherence to documentation protocols.
Attractive salary reflective of experience.
Flexible scheduling to promote work-life balance and varied caseloads.
Options to specialize in pediatrics, adult neurological rehabilitation, or geriatrics.
Paid time off (PTO) and holiday compensation.
Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans.
Support for continuing education and professional development.
A collaborative, team-driven atmosphere emphasizing quality care and lifelong learning.
Embark on a Journey Where Your Passion Meets Purpose
In this dynamic role, your work transcends the confines of speech therapy — you'll dive into a collective mission to amplify voices, strengthen communication, and create treasured moments through the simplest expressions of humanity: understanding and connection.
You will be surrounded by colleagues who view each other as family, in an environment that values teamwork and cooperation over competition. Every patient walks in with a unique story; your expertise will help them narrate it successfully.
