A respected law firm in New Orleans is seeking a Legal Assistant – Floater to support a group of attorneys with a wide range of administrative and legal tasks. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced legal support professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys variety in their day-to-day responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Provide complex secretarial, administrative, and substantive legal support.
- Prepare, edit, and format legal documents, correspondence, and filings using office software.
- Coordinate and complete e-filings in federal and state courts.
- Manage calendars, schedule meetings, and arrange travel for attorneys.
- Maintain electronic and physical filing systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Assist with billing tasks, timesheets, reimbursements, and expense reporting.
- Handle incoming and outgoing communications, including mail, faxes, and scanned documents.
- Maintain professional client interactions with discretion and judgment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; associate degree, business school certificate, or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of legal secretarial or legal assistant experience (law firm environment preferred).
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and PDF.
- Knowledge of legal terminology, documents, and court procedures.
- Excellent organizational, typing, grammar, proofreading, and clerical skills.
- Ability to prioritize, multitask, and adapt to changing demands.
