Instrument Technologist

The Instrument Technologist role entails essential responsibilities in the Sterile Processing department, working nights in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Job Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, inspect, function test, assemble, disinfect, or sterilize instrumentation and equipment following Manufacturer's Instructions for Use.
• Execute the decontamination process, which includes disassembling instrumentation and performing thorough manual cleaning with multiple steps and various cleaning agents, as well as using ultrasonic and washer disinfectors.
• Prepare instrumentation for patient use by inspecting, function testing, and assembling items, as well as labeling and preparing for sterilization.
• Ensure appropriate assembly and disassembly of equipment for use, organizing components such as cords and other parts effectively.

Qualifications

• Required Certifications: BLS, CRCST or CSPDT Certification through IAHCSMM or CBSPD.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in sterile processing.
• Preferred Skills: Basic computer skills.
