You will own core pieces of our forecasting and planning cycles, build portfolio- and merchant-level analytics that drive strategic decisions, and support the execution of our funding strategy and lender relationships. Reporting to the Director of FP&A and partnering day-to-day with the VP of FP&A and VP of Capital Markets, this role offers unique breadth for an analyst seat: forecasting & statistical modeling, unit economics, asset backed financing in one role.Business & Portfolio AnalyticsBuild merchant- and product-level unit economics and net cash flow analysis to inform pricing, growth, and capital allocation decisionsLeverage SQL and large operational datasets to build data models, dashboards (e.g., Tableau, Snowsight), and self-serve reportingSupport monthly financial review materials and ad-hoc analyses of executive questionsMonitor competitor and market performance and synthesize implications for the businessForecasting & Financial PlanningSupport quarterly Outlook forecasts and the annual budget and plan, spanning originations, portfolio performance, and profitabilityBuild and maintain components of the corporate forecasting model, including portfolio performance analysis across payment behavior, delinquency roll rates, and charge-offsDevelop scenario and sensitivity analyses to support strategic decisions and stress-test liquidity positionsAnalyze variances versus budget and outlook, translating drivers into clear narratives for senior leadershipCapital MarketsSupport the VP of Capital Markets in managing Koalafi’s asset-backed debt facilities, including covenant compliance monitoring, borrowing base reporting, and analyses supporting draws and repaymentsHelp prepare investor and lender communications, portfolio analyses, and materials for investor meetingsDevelop credit performance forecasts (e.g., delinquency, prepayment behavior) to inform funding strategy and capital planningResearch capital markets trends, funding innovations, and peer strategiesCross-Functional CollaborationPartner with Risk, Accounting, Sales, and Operations teams to align forecasts, metrics, and reporting logicImprove internal processes, automate workflows, and leverage modern tooling (including AI) to increase the speed and accuracy of analysisAbout YouBachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, or a quantitative field2 - 5 years of experience in data/business analytics, FP&A, strategic finance, capital markets, investment banking, or financial services analyticsExpertise in writing SQL for data analysis, metric reporting/tracking, and creating datasetsExperience working with large, complex datasets to tackle ambiguous, open-ended problems Curious about the "why" behind the numbers digging into data and independently following the evidence to identify root causes and actionable insightsConfident supporting multiple senior stakeholders and prioritizing across competing workstreamsExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex analysis into concise takeawaysComfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with ambiguous problems and evolving prioritiesPreferred QualificationsExperience in consumer finance, particularly subprime or non-prime lendingFoundational knowledge of asset-backed lending, securitization, and debt capital marketsPython experience for financial analysis and forecastingDemonstrated experience using BI tools (e.g., Tableau) to build dashboards and track KPIsExperience applying AI tools to accelerate analysis and reportingLocation: Richmond, VA; Arlington, VA; or Remote (U.S.). Remote opportunities are available to candidates throughout the United States.Salary Range: $101,000-$131,000per year (depending on experience and location)Additional Compensation: This position will be eligible to participate in company bonus plan.
