OBGYN Regional Medical Director

St. Luke‘s University Health Network, the region‘s largest, most established health system, a major teaching hospital, and one of the nation‘s 100 Top Hospitals is seeking a Board-Certified OB/GYN to serve as the Regional Medical Director of OBGYN an provide clinical leadership and oversight for our Allentown Campus Labor and Delivery Unit in Allentown, PA. This role combines both clinical and administrative duties. The Regional Medical Director will ensure alignment of inpatient and outpatient care standards, facilitates communication between clinical teams and administration, and supports strategic initiatives to improve quality, safety, and operational efficiency.

Qualifications:

• Board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology

• Minimum of 5 years clinical experience in OB/GYN

• Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy (MD/DO)

• Current licensure to practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania ‘

Key Responsibilities of the Regional Medical Director:

• In collaboration with the Department Chair, provides overall clinical direction for the development and implementation of all initiatives relating to the Division of OBGYN, including strategic planning, goal development, development and implementation of standardized clinical protocols and relevant clinical administrative policies.

• Participates in all multidisciplinary strategic planning initiatives for the department including, but not limited to, patient satisfaction, multidisciplinary care coordination and new service development.

• Supports patient access initiatives within the outpatient offices.

• Serves as an active participant in all recruitment efforts for the department.

• Rounds regularly with physicians to support clinical excellence and team engagement. Ensures strong communication within the department and amongst any external departments.

• Actively participates in the review of the department quality scorecard and leads/owns improvement initiatives as needed.

About the Department:

• St. Luke‘s Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology consists of over 100 physicians and advanced practitioners spread over 40 practice locations.

• Rapidly growing obstetrical program with over 6,000 deliveries per year across 3 birthing facilities.

• New state of the art birthing centers located at St. Luke‘s Anderson Campus, St. Luke‘s Allentown Campus and St. Luke‘s Upper Bucks Campus. Reopening St. Luke‘s Grand View L&D unit January 2027.

• Repeatedly awarded ‘Best Place to Have a Baby‘ in the Lehigh Valley by the Morning Call‘s Readers‘ Choice Awards.

• 24/7 in house laborist coverage and newly developed nurse midwife program/practice to provide additional support on the unit.

• Full support from a team of Maternal Fetal Medicine physicians to provide care for all OB patients (outpatient care, hospital consults, preconception counseling, genetic counseling, diabetes management, etc.).

• In house 24/7 support from neonatology at each delivering campus with Level III capabilities available at St. Luke‘s Anderson and Allentown and Level II capabilities at St. Luke‘s Upper Bucks.

• In-office nurse navigators to help support our obstetric population.

• Outpatient support for patients and family members provided through St. Luke‘s Baby & Me Support Center - an innovative facility designed to support patients and their families with support during and after pregnancy (pre-natal classes, lactation support, post-partum behavioral health support, etc.)

• Embedded Social Worker to support providers in managing complex patient concerns.

• Fully accredited training programs in OB/GYN and GYN oncology.

• We are a Ryan‘s Program accredited Residency program and have a strong Family Planning Program.

• Robust GYN surgical volumes spanning all sub-specialties (MIGS, UroGYN, REI, Family Planning and GYN Oncology).

• Dedicated departmental research efforts supported by St. Luke‘s Research Institute and Department of Research and Innovation.
