Engineering Manager

About the Role As an Engineering Manager at Assort Health, you'll lead a team building AI‑powered products that help patients access the healthcare they need — from our patient‑facing voice AI agents to the platforms and workflows that power them. You’ll build a high‑performing team, set technical direction, and help great engineers execute. We expect you to be technical and hands‑on when it matters: leading architecture reviews, debugging incidents alongside the team, and setting the bar for how the team uses AI coding tools to ship faster. What You’ll Do Lead a high performing team of engineers, including hiring and coaching. Work closely with our world‑class engineering team to develop features and products from the ground up. Enjoy a high degree of autonomy, tasked with solving complex problems in innovative ways. Drive design and architecture discussions, contributing fresh ideas and perspectives. Engage with healthcare professionals to tailor software solutions that meet real‑world needs. Play a role in an agile team, prioritizing rapid development and deployment to meet our ambitious goals. What We’re Looking For 5+ years of software engineering experience, with 2+ years in an engineering manager role. A track record of building and leading high‑performing engineering teams in fast‑moving environments. Strong engineering fundamentals and a demonstrated ability to design, build, and scale production‑grade applications or systems. Strong systems‑thinking: you balance technical scalability, time‑to‑market, and user value under uncertainty. Willingness to wear multiple hats — from design and development to testing and occasional support. Comfortable with rapid iteration, experimentation, and learning from failure in a fast‑paced environment. Passion for Assort’s mission of improving patient access through innovative technology.
