The Territory Sales Manager role is a critical role in our high-performing sales team. The successful candidate will manage all sales and executional functions within the respectively assigned geography which includes retail sales and may include account management and/or wholesaler sales. Selling and servicing PMI U.S.'s Cigar portfolio in retail stores in assigned geography includes gaining new item distribution, promotion execution, merchandising products, and product rotation for freshness on all products in all assigned stores. This candidate is able to utilize our data to develop fact-based presentations for our customers and follow our call process while ensuring all administrative aspects of the job, including expenses and point of sale materials are executed based on our standards. He/she is self-motivated to achieve their personal best every day while creating an environment where cooperation, credibility, candor, consistency and a commitment to exceptional performance exists.
Key Responsibilities
- Contributes to the achievement of Company and Regional objectives by meeting or exceeding trade program and promotion goals.
- Proactively identifies and capitalizes on new business opportunities
- Develops and implements long and short term business plans to efficiently grow the business
- Analyzes post-program data to eliminate duplication of errors and learn for improved future results.
- Develops and maintains strong partnerships with retail, wholesale and account key decision makers in his/her territory.
- Effectively sells concepts, programs and products to his/her assigned customers.
- Merchandises PMI US's Cigar products in stores for maximum consumer reach
- Efficiently manages inventory
- Manages all administrative tasks on-time with consistency and accuracy.
- Maintains call frequencies as established by Cigar District Manager
- Understands and effectively uses tools and resources available to be effective in role:
- Microsoft Outlook, Power Point, Excel, Word
- MSA Data (Standardized reports and ability to pull ad hoc information to customize customer information and opportunities)
- Salesforce (MAFs, store lists, trade programs, campaigns, customer contact information, authorized items)
- Analyzes and develops action plans from shipment/ financial information and make timely purposeful decisions and recommendations.
- Effectively plans and coordinates work activities based on prioritization.
- Establishes efficient work procedures to ensure business objectives are met in a timely and accurate fashion.
- Sets goals and effectively accomplishes those goals in a timely fashion
- Communicates with Impact internally and with his/her customers.
Experience/ Skills
- Two+ years experience in retail sales, wholesale grocery or route sales or other relevant experience
- Proven strong organizational skills
- Proficient in verbal and written presentation skills.
- Intermediate to proficient skills in Excel & Power Point
- Salesforce experience preferred
- Assumes personal accountability for achievement of business goals.
- Self-motivated
- Displays a high energy level and positive attitude toward business objectives
Background
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
Requirements
- This position requires occasional lifting of materials up to 30 pounds in service of merchandising responsibilities and infrequent lifting of materials up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to possess federally regulated products (i.e. be at least 21 years of age)
Annual Base Salary Range: $66,400 - $83,000
The TSM role requires consistent in-market presence to effectively manage accounts, support field teams, and respond quickly to customer needs. A condition of employment for this role is to be within 25-30 miles of the named territory location, being within the named location is preferred.
