We are in search of a Director of Warehouse Operations for a prominent food production company with a highly automated distribution center in Atlanta. In this position, you will be responsible for overseeing a 24/7 warehouse operation that facilitates the movement of finished food goods from manufacturing to distribution, with a strong emphasis on Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (ASRS), high-bay crane systems, WMS execution, inventory precision, food safety adherence, and efficient customer order fulfillment.

This role deviates from the typical warehouse management role. Ideal candidates should have hands-on managerial experience in a high-volume food production or distribution setting that utilizes ASRS crane systems. The successful candidate will possess the ability to lead teams, oversee systems and automation, manage inventory, and ensure streamlined product flow in a high-paced, audit-compliant food processing setting.

Roles

Supervise a 24/7 warehouse operation in a high-volume food manufacturing setting
Manage exempt and non-exempt warehouse leadership teams on multiple shifts
Take charge of operational performance for ASRS crane systems, automated storage solutions, WMS, ERP, and related warehouse technologies
Collaborate with Manufacturing, Transportation, Maintenance, Engineering, IT, Quality, Food Safety, and Supply Chain teams to guarantee safe, accurate, and efficient product flow
Enhance inventory accuracy, FIFO rotation, order fulfillment, dock-to-stock procedures, order-to-ship processes, and outbound shipping efficiency
Enhance ASRS uptime, throughput, system utilization, loading accuracy, and overall warehouse productivity
Lead labor scheduling, staffing, budget management, capital initiatives, and automation enhancement projects
Cultivate a safety-conscious, food-safety-centric, audit-prepared warehouse environment
Ensure compliance with OSHA, FDA, GMP, SQF, food defense, and internal food safety guidelines
Formulate and nurture a high-performance warehouse leadership team focused on accountability, engagement, safety, and continuous improvement

Requirements

Bachelors degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Business, or related field
7+ years of progressive warehouse/distribution management experience
Minimum of 2 years in a Director-level or senior warehouse leadership position
Essential experience in food manufacturing or distribution
Vital hands-on leadership involvement with Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (ASRS), especially high-bay automated crane systems
Proficiency in WMS, ERP, inventory management, FIFO practices, and warehouse automation
Record of overseeing large 24/7 multi-shift warehouse operations
Skill in managing exempt and non-exempt warehouse teams
Sound knowledge of food safety, GMP, FDA, SQF, OSHA, and audit-ready warehouse protocols
Background in labor planning, budgeting, forecasting, KPIs, throughput, inventory control, shipping accuracy, and operational cost management
Experience collaborating across functions with manufacturing, maintenance, engineering, IT, transportation, quality, and supply chain departments
