CONTROLLER Full-Time · Exempt | Arts District in DTLA, Los Angeles, CA | Hybrid – onsite 4 days, 1 day remote/week Salary: $120,000–$140,000/year About the role We're a fast-moving, digitally native, color cosmetics company looking for a hands-on Controller to own our accounting function end to end. This isn't a seat where you delegate and review from a distance — you'll be in the numbers daily, closing the books, managing a small team, and building the financial infrastructure to support our next stage of growth. You'll report directly to leadership. What you'll own Full monthly close, financial statements, and management reporting Cash flow management, AP/AR oversight, and inventory accounting (COGS, landed cost, reconciliation) General ledger integrity and US GAAP compliance Managing and developing a small accounting team Building and improving processes, controls, and reporting systems Partnering with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and financial strategy Coordinating with external partners (tax, audit, banking) What we're looking for 7+ years in progressive accounting roles, including 3+ years in a Controller or senior-level role with full ownership of the close Must have already held a Controller title — this is not a step-up role from coordinator or manager Strong US GAAP proficiency Direct experience managing accountants Inventory-based accounting experience (required) Proven ability to build or clean up a financial process from scratch ERP experience required Consumer products, cosmetics, or retail experience is a strong plus Benefits Paid sick leave in accordance with Los Angeles law Health insurance Schedule Standard full-time office hours, Monday–Friday.
