Job Description & Requirements Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: 11/09/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Information This interdisciplinary unit features 12 beds and employs advanced critical care and neuroscience principles at an Intermediate level. Patient populations commonly include those transitioning from the Neuro ICU, individuals who have suffered neuro trauma, hemorrhages, and ENT cancer patients post-tumor resection and flap reconstruction, as well as post-operative spine patients and a wide variety of neurological cases. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:3. Work Schedule 13-week contract Available positions: 36 hours or 48 hours per week Every other weekend and every other holiday required Must work 2 out of the 3 winter holidays Approval for up to 40 hours of time off Qualifications Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required NIH (National Institutes of Health) Stroke Scale certification required Experience with Epic electronic health record system required Ability to adhere to float policy Virginia nursing license (may apply with pending license) Responsibilities As a Registered Nurse in this unit, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive care to patients with complex medical needs, utilizing critical care techniques, and working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
