Adjunct – AY26 Nursing, Obstetric InstructorThe Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) is the largest community college district in the United States and one of the largest in the world. Its colleges offer instruction to 225,000 students, annually, in 600 associates' degree and 400 certificate of achievement programs in general, career-technical and transfer education, and contribute significantly to the economic and social well-being of its students, the regional economy and the greater Los Angeles area.Position: The LACCD announces Adjunct Faculty Nursing Obstetric Instructor, for the 2026-27 Academic School Year, focusing on Maternal Health. Final determination of part-time Nursing assignments is contingent upon student enrollment/class or assignment availability/funding.Minimum Qualifications· BRN Regulation Section 1425(c):Master's or higher degree, which includes coursework in nursing, education or administration.Direct patient care experience within the previous 5 years in the nursing areas (geriatrics and medical-surgical) to which the faculty is assigned that can be met either one of the following:(a) 1 Year's continuous, fulltime or its equivalent experience providing direct patient care as a registered nurse in the designated nursing area; or(b) 1 year academic year of registered nurse level clinical teaching experience in the designated nursing area or its equivalent that demonstrates clinical competency;(c) Validated Clinical Competence;(d) The equivalent of 1 years teaching experience.AND a current California RN License by start of employment.Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe primary assignment is to teach a part-time load of nursing theory and/or clinical courses. Duties and responsibilities associated with the position involve activities within the department as well as the larger college setting. These duties may include, but are not limited to the following:Facilitating student learning by designing varied interactive learning environments;Working as a team with staff and administrators to create innovative educational experiences and providing an environment where students are partners in learning;Assisting in program planning, peer evaluation, educational project development and participating in personal and professional growth, as well as, professional development activities.CompensationThe salary schedule for adjunct instructors begins at $89.72 per standard hour, plus an office hour differential of $20.99 per hour for classroom assignments.
