Assistant Project Manager

A well-established, ENR-ranked general contractor is looking to add an Assistant Project Manager to its Chicago team. This is a strong opportunity for someone who wants exposure to a wide variety of projects rather than being tied to one sector. The company works across commercial, multifamily, healthcare, education, hospitality, industrial and mixed-use construction, with projects ranging from smaller renovations through large ground-up developments. The Role As Assistant Project Manager, you’ll work alongside experienced Project Managers and Project Executives while taking ownership of key parts of the construction process, including: Subcontractor coordination RFIs and submittals Change orders Cost tracking and forecasting Procurement and buyout Owner and architect communication Schedule coordination Supporting projects from preconstruction through closeout This is not a role where you’ll stay an APM indefinitely. The company has a strong track record of promoting from within and offers a clear path toward Project Manager. What They’re Looking For 2+ years of commercial construction experience Experience with a general contractor preferred Background as an Assistant Project Manager, Project Engineer or similar Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field preferred Why Join?
