Based in Woburn, MA, Cabot Risk Strategies is easily accessed off of 93 and 128, and employs 100+ people.Purpose and DescriptionAs a lead within the Accounting team, work with the CFO to carry out the company's accounting and finance functions.Essential Job FunctionsFacilitate and complete monthly close procedures. Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules according to monthly close schedule.Compile and analyze data and create reports to assist leadership in meeting overall financial goals and objectives.Assist in preparation of budget.Monthly account reconciliations.Assist with company reporting requirements and audits.Process vendor payables and customer receiptsServe as backup to other accounting team membersSupport CFO with special projects and workflow process improvements.Process bi-monthly payroll through ADP Workforce Now.Compilation of revenue reports.Monthly and quarterly invoicing.Ad hoc requests and projects for Executive Leadership.Education/Experience:Bachelor's degree (B.S. or B.A.) in accounting or finance. Advanced degree a plus, but not required.2+ years of experience in an accounting/finance role, preferably in the insurance industry.Desired Skills and Abilities:Must be a fast learner with strong attention to detail.Proven knowledge of accounting principles and practices along with the ability to analyze financial data and provide accurate and timely reporting.Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with a variety of functional areas and levels.Demonstrates accountability for results and understands the financial impact of decisions.Must have the ability to be a self-starter and work with minimal supervision.Familiarity with QuickBooks is preferred.
