FX Payments Officer

FX Payments Officer HSBC Technology & Services (USA) Inc., Buffalo, NY. Processing payments of all forms (FED, SWIFT, ISO, ACH, CHIPS) both creation and verification. Maintain and monitor FX deals to ensure proper settlement, execute FX trade with a wire. Maintain a daily log of all deals, transfers and payment orders. Responsible for booking and settling FX currency trades. Support all currency payment teams onshore and offshore to resolve issues submitted, as well as the Investigation team. Provide effective implementation of new procedures, systems, process changes, and initiatives impacting payment operations. Provide oversight for the Offshore GSC teams, escalating to management as required. Assist in payment investigations. Deal directly with internal clients and business areas either by telephone, electronically, or face to face. Daily review and verification of the Nostro, TLM reconciliation, and balances. Investigate overdrafts in clients DDA and Nostro accounts. Assist management with identifying process improvements and workflow changes to improve customer experience and process efficiencies. Verify and release all payment entries on the payment systems. Support and provide high quality service to Relationship managers / Front Office. Provide adequate training for staff. Determine correct actions to reduce operational risks related to day-to-day functions. Telecommuting Telecommuting permitted up to 3 days per week. Working Hours and Pay Full time employment, Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week. Pay Range: $75,008.60 - $85,008.60 per year. Minimum Requirements Payment operations industry experience (at least 3 years). Experience with payment systems such as SWIFT, ACH, FED, CHIPS and ISO, including entry and release of all payment types. Foreign exchange experience from both operations and trading perspectives, including settlements. Processing settlement and reconciliation for trades. Entering and reading foreign currency payments and currency conversion trades. Bank operations with payments, foreign exchange, and Middle Office capacity. Offshore Collaboration At least 2 years of experience collaborating with offshore teams across multiple time zones to ensure alignment in daily operations, governance, and execution of activities, while providing training and support to Global Service Centers (GSCs).
