About the Role
The Company is in search of an Associate Vice Chair for Faculty Development to play a pivotal role in the advancement and recognition of its academic community. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the oversight of faculty appointments, promotions, and clinical distinctions, ensuring that all processes align with institutional standards and support the diverse missions of the faculty. This senior leadership position requires a strategic and innovative individual with a strong background in academic pediatrics, a proven track record in faculty development and administration, and exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. The role involves maintaining awareness of faculty career progression, chairing the Departmental Appointments and Promotions Committee, and fostering a culture of career growth and support for faculty and physicians. Candidates for the Associate Vice Chair of Faculty Development position at the company should hold a Doctor of Medicine (MD or DO) or equivalent medical degree, be board-certified in pediatrics or a pediatric subspecialty, and be eligible for medical licensure in the state of Georgia. An advanced degree in a related field is preferred. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years' of experience in faculty/physician professional development, a strong knowledge of faculty appointment and promotion processes, and a demonstrated ability to lead and manage change initiatives. The role also involves partnering with the Vice Chair of Faculty Development to align clinical distinctions with faculty advancement pathways and serving as a resource for faculty and division chiefs. The candidate must be committed to the highest standards of confidentiality, and the position is not eligible for remote work.
