Cardiology Physician Assistant Job Requirements

• Physician Assistant with current NCCPA certification
• Board certification required
• At least 3 years of prior experience in both inpatient and outpatient cardiology settings
• Acute care training preferred
• Active Michigan Physician Assistant license required at the time of submission
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications through the American Heart Association
• Familiarity with Epic preferred
• Clean professional background with no unresolved malpractice or licensing concerns
• Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and ability to collaborate with cardiologists, physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams

Inpatient Cardiology Physician Assistant Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient cardiology care for adult and geriatric patients
• Round with cardiologists and support the inpatient cardiology service
• Evaluate and manage follow-up patients on the inpatient rounding list
• Coordinate care across inpatient and outpatient workflows as appropriate
• Provide thorough discharge instructions and patient education
• Manage post-procedure care and monitor patient recovery
• Communicate clinical findings and treatment plans with physicians, nursing staff, patients, and families
• Document patient assessments, care plans, and clinical progress accurately in Epic
• Participate in a supportive teaching and leadership environment
