Master Elecrician

Master Electrician Location: Salem, New Hampshire Department: Energy Services Employment Type: Full-Time Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Master Electrician to support electrical projects involving electric vehicle charging infrastructure, distributed energy resources, battery energy storage systems, and power distribution. This position will provide hands-on electrical expertise, review designs for constructability and code compliance, support installation and commissioning activities, and help establish consistent safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code and experience working with complex commercial or industrial electrical systems. Primary Responsibilities Install, inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and equipment. Support EV charging, distributed energy, battery storage, and power-distribution projects. Review electrical drawings, specifications, and Basis of Design documents for constructability and code compliance. Ensure installations comply with NEC, NFPA 70E, local codes, safety standards, and project requirements. Coordinate with engineers, contractors, vendors, utilities, and internal project teams. Review electrical equipment specifications and confirm compatibility with project requirements. Support equipment testing, system startup, commissioning, and project turnover. Troubleshoot electrical issues and recommend safe, practical solutions. Maintain accurate documentation of inspections, testing, repairs, and technical decisions. Help develop installation standards, safety procedures, quality-control checklists, and field best practices. Provide technical guidance and oversight to electricians and field personnel. Manage priorities across multiple projects and communicate progress clearly. Stay informed about emerging technologies related to EV charging, battery storage, renewable energy, and electrical distribution. Required Qualifications Valid Master Electrician license in New Hampshire or the ability to obtain one. At least five years of relevant commercial or industrial electrical experience. Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code and NFPA 70E. Experience interpreting electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, specifications, and technical documentation. Experience with electrical power distribution and at least one of the following: Electric vehicle charging infrastructure Distributed energy resources Battery energy storage systems Commercial or industrial power systems Medium-voltage distribution Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to work safely and effectively in both field and office environments. Ability to coordinate with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed. Preferred Qualifications Experience with DC fast-charging equipment. Experience supporting commissioning, startup, and system testing. Familiarity with arc-flash safety procedures and documentation. Experience reviewing stamped electrical drawings for code compliance and constructability. Supervisory or team-lead experience. Additional electrical licenses or relevant safety certifications.
