This position is responsible for enterprise database design, configuration, implementation, maintenance, and support in a Microsoft SQL environment.
*Install and configure Microsoft SQL Server software and related products
*Perform the database design and implementation of database data models
*Implement and maintain database security, including creating and maintaining users and roles
*Perform database maintenance and application/database performance tuning
*Maintain and monitor all database servers to ensure system availability
*Establish and maintain backup and recovery policies and procedures and perform all database data backup and restoration procedures and functions
*Provide Tier 2 / Tier 3 and 24/7 technical support
*Interface with Microsoft for SQL Server technical support
*Provide general consultation to Application Development regarding database design and development
*Create and maintain database documentation and standards
*Perform database capacity planning
*Evaluate Microsoft SQL Server features and related products
*Analyze and review the database components of vendor software packages
*Provide project management oversight for enterprise database projects and work closely with the IT Project Management Office to accomplish project-related goals
