Description:
We are seeking a capable PC/Network Technician to provide reliable on-site and remote support for client workstations, users, networks, business applications, and cloud services. This role is responsible for PC configuration and troubleshooting, operating system maintenance, hardware repair, software installation, printer support, LAN maintenance, basic server upkeep, new user setup, backups, and customer training. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of hands-on IT experience, strong communication skills, and a practical understanding of modern business technology, including Microsoft 365, cloud identity, endpoint security, mobile device support, and remote management tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- PC Configuration & Troubleshooting: Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows PCs, laptops, peripherals, operating systems, drivers, and common business applications.
- Hardware & Peripheral Support: Diagnose and repair workstation hardware issues, replace components as needed, and support printers, scanners, docking stations, monitors, and other office equipment.
- End-User Support: Provide professional telephone, remote, and on-site support for customers, including password resets, application issues, connectivity problems, account setup, and user training.
- Microsoft 365 & Cloud Support: Assist with Microsoft 365 user administration, Exchange Online mailboxes, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, licensing, MFA, and basic Microsoft Entra ID identity tasks.
- Endpoint & Device Management: Support modern endpoint tools such as Microsoft Intune, remote monitoring and management platforms, patching tools, antivirus/EDR agents, device enrollment, and application deployment.
- LAN & Network Maintenance: Assist with network wiring, switches, interface cards, wireless connectivity, VPN access, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP troubleshooting, and basic firewall or router support.
- Server Maintenance: Perform general server maintenance tasks such as updates, disk space cleanup, basic Active Directory tasks, file share support, backup verification, and escalation of server issues when appropriate.
- Security & Backup Support: Help maintain endpoint protection, security updates, MFA adoption, backup checks, basic incident response steps, and remediation of common workstation or user-security risks.
- Software Installation & Updates: Install, configure, upgrade, and troubleshoot a variety of software packages, including productivity tools, line-of-business applications, browser-based cloud applications, and vendor utilities.
- Documentation & Team Collaboration: Document work clearly, update tickets accurately, communicate status with customers and co-workers, and collaborate with senior technicians and engineers on escalations. Requirements:
Experience: 3–5 years of hands-on experience in the information technology industry supporting business users, workstations, networks, and common applications. This is not an entry-level position.
Technical Skills: Strong working knowledge of Windows PC support, operating system maintenance, hardware troubleshooting, printer support, software installation, user account setup, LAN troubleshooting, and basic server maintenance.
Modern Technology Familiarity: Practical experience with Microsoft 365, cloud-based applications, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, MFA, endpoint security tools, remote support platforms, and basic Microsoft Entra ID or Intune concepts is strongly preferred.
Networking Knowledge: Ability to troubleshoot TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN connectivity, wireless networks, switches, cabling, network interface cards, and general internet connectivity issues.
Certifications: Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent certification/experience desired. Microsoft 365, Azure Fundamentals, Intune, Security+, or vendor-specific networking certifications are a plus.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to comfortably and effectively explain technical issues and collaborate with customers and co-workers.
Professionalism: Professional appearance, strong customer service skills, dependable transportation, and the ability to represent the company well in client environments are required.
Education: College degree not required; relevant technical experience, certifications, customer-facing support ability, and demonstrated troubleshooting skills will be considered. Reports to:
