Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower pay band, NH-02 (or GS-11 equivalency), in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a Professional Engineer leading or coordinating engineering programs to analyze, monitor, maintain systems engineering requirements and determine solutions for a ship, submarine or undersea research and development weapons system.

Successful completion of a professional engineering degree. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree (or higher) in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET); or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.

Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico. - You will be a Lead Engineer for In-Service Submarine Weapons Systems and Launcher Systems.
- You will serve as an advisor in applying advanced concepts, principles, and processes for life cycle engineering and management of various In-Service Submarine Weapons Systems and Launcher Systems, subsystems and equipment.
- You will plan and conduct various engineering development programs/projects that involve continuous systems modification, systems requirement evaluation, and performance analysis affecting In-Service Submarine Weapons Systems and Launcher Systems.
- You will determine and evaluate the efficiency of adopted improvements to ensure satisfactory progress and fulfillment of requirements.
- You will provide engineering oversight of Condition Based Maintenance (CBM) and Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) engineering practices.
- You will resolve technical problems through expert knowledge of submarine In-Service Submarine Weapons Systems and Launcher Systems design, operations, logistics support practices, and sound technical judgment.
- You will ensure appropriate systems engineering processes are properly applied during In-Service Submarine Weapons Systems and Launcher Systems life cycle sustainment.
