Procurement Specialist

Procurement SpecialistAldridge is seeking a Procurement Specialist to be part of Aldridge's Purchasing team. Your role at Aldridge will support some of the largest and most technically challenging infrastructure projects in the nation! Our Purchasing Agents support project teams from coast to coast with project procurement strategies to keep our people safe, maximize operational efficiencies, stay under budget, and solve purchasing and logistics problems. You will have the opportunity to create partnerships with project teams and vendors focusing on lowest installed cost strategies needed to complete our projects.Essential project and divisional duties include:Working with project teams and vendors to negotiate project procurement plans and packagesBeing a material subject matter expert resource for project managers that might not fully understand their needsUsing questioning to ensure orders are completeReviewing, monitoring, and controlling the creation and execution of purchase order requests from project teamsPursuing and negotiating available vendor discountsMaking recommendations to increase efficiency and drive greater valueAssisting with the training and rollout of any purchasing processes and system changesFacilitating the resolution of material and/or logistics issues with vendorsMonitoring the purchase order status with project teams to ensure timely completionWorking with the project and accounting teams to correct coding and/or data entry errors related to purchase orders and invoices that impact timely vendor paymentsCoordinating all equipment procurement activitiesInterfacing with equipment vendors, including expediting vendor procurement information and deliverables, as necessaryPreparing the engineering and equipment procurement requirements of the ProjectScheduling day-to-day equipment procurement activities and coordinating these activities with the Project Manager and the Project SchedulerProviding the Project Manager, a "Procurement Report"Performing additional duties as directed by the Project ManagerWe are pursuing candidates with the following qualifications:3+ years' experience with a degree, 5+ years' experience without a degreePurchasing/procurement field experience, construction is a plusCommunicates well in person, on the phone, and through emailProven problem solver with strong organizational and analytical skillsEssential computer skills: MS Office, Google, and PDF creationExperience with procurement software, specifically Coupa, is a plusConstruction experience desiredAt Aldridge, we invite you to be a part of our dynamic team, where your skills are not only valued but crucial to our success. The actual pay is dependent upon many factors, including: location, work experience, education, training, transferable skills, business needs, and market conditions. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. The role may also be eligible for a bonus.
