Three different shifts available: 10 hours per day, Monday to Thursday from 7 AM to 6 PM.

Job Description

The Medical Laboratory Technician / Medical Laboratory Scientist performs specimen processing, testing, and reporting of test results in compliance with regulatory requirements, policy and procedures, and the organization's goal of providing quality patient care. The position is within a laboratory providing sub-specialties in a hospital setting, including chemistry, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, blood bank, microbiology, and clinical microscopy. The laboratory operates 24 hours, requiring coverage across day, evening, and night shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Process and test laboratory specimens in various disciplines.
• Report and document test results accurately and timely.
• Adhere to all regulatory requirements and laboratory policies.
• Participate in quality assurance and improvement activities.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Medical Laboratory Technician: High School Diploma or equivalent with at least 60 semester hours including 6 hours of chemistry, 6 hours of biology, and 12 hours of laboratory science; or completion of an approved military laboratory training program.
• Medical Laboratory Scientist: Bachelor's degree in chemical, biological, or clinical laboratory science with at least 48 semester hours of science coursework.
• Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician or Medical Laboratory Scientist from an acceptable certifying body required within 18 months of hire.
• Minimum of six months of clinical laboratory experience for MLT and one year for MLS across core areas.
