Job Summary
Surgical Technician/Operating Room Tech ORT. The position supports obstetric surgical services, including high-risk procedures and operating room activities. Responsibilities include surgical technology, stocking, and related unit support, with training available for secretary duties.
Job Details
- Schedule: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week; on-call coverage is required when not working, and weekend coverage varies.
- Required Qualifications: At least 1 year of experience; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; NBSTSA certification.
- Additional Information: Responsibilities include scrubbing high-risk obstetric procedures, stocking, and supporting surgical services. Relevant procedures include cesarean sections, dilation and curettage, abdominal and vaginal hysterectomies, laparoscopic gynecological procedures, sterilization and disinfection, appendectomies, cholecystectomies, hernia repairs, colon resections, thyroidectomies, Whipple procedures, and bilateral tubal ligation. Surgical technicians willing to learn secretary skills may receive training to support desk and operating room needs.
