Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit Registered Nurse – Kansas

Start Date: August 17, 2026

Location: Overland Park, Kansas

Schedule: Self-scheduling with 3 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule. No on-call required. 12-hour shifts with a 1:4-5 nurse-to-patient ratio.

Highlights:

• 18-bed Progressive Care Unit specializing in cardiac and pulmonary patient populations
• Patient case mix includes COPD exacerbation, pneumonia, CHF, tracheostomy care, and telemetry monitoring
• Supportive staffing model with 2 Patient Care Technicians and 1 Unit Secretary per shift
• Meditech documentation system with in-room computers and modern equipment including Alaris and Kangaroo pumps
• Moderate acuity environment requiring continuous cardiac monitoring and nursing interventions every 3-4 hours
• Collaborative team culture focused on patient experience, courtesy, and teamwork

Requirements:

• Current Kansas RN license or compact state RN license
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required
• Progressive care, telemetry, or step-down unit experience strongly preferred
• Experience with respiratory interventions including oxygen therapy, BIPAP/CPAP (up to 80%), and AirVo low flow systems
