Position: Youth Development Professional Location: Newbury Park, CA Job Id: 229 # of Openings: 1 Youth Development Professional – Education & Workforce Readiness Rocky & Lon Morton Club | Part-Time | Approximately 25 Hours per Week Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Conejo Valley is seeking an enthusiastic and dependable Youth Development Professional (YDP) to join our Rocky & Lon Morton Club team. This position works directly with youth to create a safe, positive, and engaging Club experience through academic support, enrichment activities, recreation, leadership development, and healthy lifestyles. This position will have a special focus on Education & Workforce Readiness , helping Club members strengthen academic skills, explore future opportunities, develop confidence, and build skills that support success in school and beyond. Schedule Monday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday: 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM Tuesday: 12:30 PM – 6:00 PM Approximately 25 hours per week Key Responsibilities Plan and lead engaging Education & Workforce Readiness activities, including homework support, academic enrichment, skill-building, and age-appropriate career exploration. Assist with Club programs in areas such as arts, STEAM, sports, leadership, and healthy lifestyles. Build positive relationships with Club members and provide guidance, encouragement, and emotional support. Supervise members and maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming program environment. Monitor member participation and engagement and adapt activities based on member needs and feedback. Support positive behavior and use appropriate conflict-resolution and social-emotional strategies. Prepare materials and supplies for daily programming. Communicate professionally with Club staff, members, parents, and community partners. Participate in Club events, meetings, and other activities as needed. Follow all Club safety procedures and promptly report and document incidents or concerns. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of one year of experience planning or implementing youth programs or activities, such as tutoring. Ability to motivate youth and effectively manage behavioral challenges. Strong communication, organization, and conflict-resolution skills. Ability to supervise youth in a safe and positive environment. Ability to be flexible and adjust programming based on member needs and feedback. CPR and First Aid certification.
