The Role
- The Agile Technical Program Manager (TPM) is a critical leadership role responsible for driving the successful delivery of complex, cross-functional technology initiatives that power client growth. This role sits at the intersection of product, engineering, and operations, ensuring strategy translates into predictable, high-quality execution at scale.
- As an Agile TPM, you will partner closely with engineering and product teams operating within scaled agile frameworks (e.g., View email address on click.appcast.io, SAFe, or equivalent) to deliver new products, platforms, and material enhancements. You will coordinate across multiple delivery teams, align dependencies, manage risks, and ensure outcomes are achieved.
- The Agile TPM owns portfolio-level planning, delivery orchestration, metrics, and stakeholder visibility, while also engaging directly in day-to-day agile execution, quarterly planning, and team-of-teams coordination.
- This role is ideal for someone who understands how to balance autonomous teams with enterprise-level alignment, and who can lead through influence in a matrixed organization.
Program & Portfolio Leadership
- Own the end-to-end planning, execution, and rollout of a portfolio of related technical initiatives.
- Translate strategic objectives into coherent quarterly plans, coordinating work across multiple teams and value streams.
- Operate effectively in a team-of-teams environment, managing cross-program dependencies and delivery sequencing.
- Facilitate and participate in scaled agile ceremonies (e.g., quarterly planning, big-room planning, program syncs, retrospectives).
- Support teams operating in Scrum, View email address on click.appcast.io, SAFe, or similar frameworks, ensuring alignment without undermining team autonomy.
- Partner with Product and Engineering leaders to ensure backlogs, milestones, and delivery plans are realistic, outcome-driven, and prioritized.
- Technical & Delivery Oversight
- Maintain a strong understanding of system architecture, technical trade-offs, and delivery constraints to anticipate risks early.
- Actively identify and resolve cross-team risks, bottlenecks, and inefficiencies that emerge in scaled environments.
- Ensure delivery meets agreed standards for quality, readiness, and operability, not just schedule compliance.
- Define and own program- and portfolio-level metrics (delivery predictability, throughput, capacity, dependency health).
- Provide concise, decision-oriented status reporting to senior and executive stakeholders.
- Make delivery trade-offs explicit by surfacing assumptions, constraints, and second-order impacts.
- Collaborate closely with Engineering, Product, Design, Data, Security, Operations, and Compliance.
- Serve as connective tissue between strategy and execution across multiple teams and domains.
- Lead through clarity, trust, and accountability, particularly in a matrixed, scaled-agile context.
- 5+ years of experience in Technical Program Management, Agile Program Management, or
- Project Management in software-driven organizations.
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent work experience).
- Strong working knowledge of lean and agile delivery principles, including experience supporting multiple teams or programs concurrently.
- Proven track record delivering complex, cross-functional technical programs in fast-paced environments.
- Skilled in planning, forecasting, and tracking delivery across interconnected initiatives.
- Highly analytical, systems-oriented problem solver with strong communication skills.

Experience

- Fintech, financial services, or regulated industry experience.
- Hands-on experience with Jira and Confluence.
- Experience building dashboards, scorecards, and executive-level reporting.
- Certifications (Preferred)
- PMI-ACP, CSM, CSPO, SAFe Agilist, View email address on click.appcast.io Practitioner, or equivalent
