Endocrine Lab Tech (Temp)

Opportunity Overview Position: Endocrine Lab Tech (Temp) at Shady Grove Fertility, Rockville, Maryland. (Temporary position, floats to Fairfax, Virginia office.) Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM with weekend and holiday rotations from June until December. This position will float to our Fairfax, Virginia office. Compensation: $25 to $30 per hour (commensurate with experience). Duration: Temporary. Team Environment At US Fertility, we collaborate with over 200 highly respected physicians nationwide and passionate colleagues, creating a supportive and dynamic work environment. Responsibilities Perform quality controls, calibration and instrument preventive maintenance checks at the required frequency and document such actions. Check and record daily temperature of refrigerators to ensure proper storage of media reagents. Monitor supply of reagents and other material to ensure adequate supply at all times and order supplies when necessary. Take appropriate safety precautions for handling specimen and contaminated areas. Perform all clerical tasks associated with recording laboratory results in designated areas and filing. Provide a turnaround time to the physicians (approximately two hour request from the time specimens are received). Reliability: It is an essential function of this position to report to work on time for your scheduled hours, ready for work. Qualifications and Skills Minimum of one year laboratory experience. Experience with a chemistry analyzer strongly preferred. Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, or a related science field; MLT/ASCP certification or equivalent. Ability to troubleshoot assays and equipment. More important than any single credential, however, is the right person.
