We are a boutique, highly collegial law practice seeking a skilled and tech-savvy Part-Time Legal Secretary to assist with all facets of our daily operations. If you are looking for a collaborative, low-stress environment with great scheduling flexibility and absolutely no weekend work, this is the perfect fit.
Key Responsibilities
- Administrative Support: Manage phone calls, client intake, scheduling, and calendar management.
- Document Preparation: Draft, proofread, and format legal documents, correspondence, and pleadings related to real estate transactions, wills/estates, and matrimonial cases.
- Digital Filing & Organization: Maintain and organize electronic and physical client files, ensuring accurate record-keeping.
- Tech Management: Utilize legal software, email, and digital tools to streamline daily office workflows.
Qualifications & Skills
- Secretarial Expertise: Strong organizational skills, sharp attention to detail, and excellent written/verbal communication.
- IT Savvy: Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), Adobe Acrobat, and general legal billing or case management software.
- NY Legal Experience (Major Plus): Prior experience working within a New York law firm is highly preferred.
- Practice Area Familiarity (Plus): Experience handling paperwork and procedures for Wills, Real Estate (closings), and/or Matrimonial law is a significant advantage.
You will be working primarily with an attorney with over 40 years experience who is relocating his Manhattan office to Long Island. You will be deaing primarily with real estate law, matrimonial law and estate law.
