Job Description:\n\nJob Summary\n\nThe Estimator II independently develops accurate and competitive estimates for electrical commercial construction projects, and defined scopes within mission critical/data center environments. This role is responsible for building complete pricing, defining scope, and ensuring estimates reflect actual field installation practices and productivity.\n\n \n\nThe Estimator II supports both design build and structured bid work, requiring the ability to manage multiple bids. This position works directly with the estimating team and vendors to validate scope, pricing, and constructability, and plays a key role in delivering estimates that align with company profitability and execution capabilities.\n\n \n\n \n\nEssential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities\n\nTasks may include, but are not limited to the following:\n\n· Go online and accept RFQ, RFP, & Invitations to Bid\n\n· Create project folders, download drawings, specifications, and project documents\n\n· Separate project documents into the format required for estimating\n\n· Create accubid projects and upload documents into live count\n\n· Communicate with coworkers to define the project scope, address deficiencies, negotiate pricing and build relationships\n\n· Complete specification reviews and Project document reviews\n\n· Attend job walks and document the information in Accubid, Save photos in the project folder\n\n· Identify issues for discussion with the team. Generate RFI's and/or document the assumptions in Accubid\n\n· Build and Maintain relationships with the clients you serve\n\n· Request information and updates on all projects you have bid and update the team during the weekly sales meeting\n\n· Develop accurate, detailed takeoffs for a variety of projects\n\n· Develop and document logical assumptions during estimating activities and apply these assumptions to take-off tasks\n\n· Exhibit the ability to prioritize and plan work activities, use your time efficiently and develop realistic action plans\n\n· Produce, review, and distribute Bills of Material for projects\n\n· Maintain department confidentiality\n\n· Participate in internal estimate reviews as necessary\n\n· Participate in project turnover and kickoff collaboration when necessary\n\n· Participate in the complete bid process to promote your knowledge and growth\n\n· Provide analytical summaries and recommendations to improve the estimating process, the department, and the company\n\n· Review takeoffs and work from junior estimators and check for conformity to EEC requirements and project specs and drawings\n\n· Maintain and represent Company standards, always produce a professional and quality product for distribution\n\n· Assists with other job responsibilities as required\n\n· Assist and mentor estimator I employees\n\n \n\n \n\nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities \n\nRequired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:\n\n· Strong working knowledge of electrical construction\n\n· Ability to independently read and interpret full drawing sets, specifications, and one-line diagrams\n\n· Working knowledge of National Electrical Code and its impact on scope and cost\n\n· Ability to build labor estimates based on real-world installation methods, not just templates\n\n· Strong understanding of material pricing, availability, and market conditions\n\n· Ability to identify constructability concerns and adjust estimates accordingly\n\n· Strong analytical skills to evaluate subcontractor quotes and perform bid leveling\n\n· Ability to manage multiple bids and service requests simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment\n\n· Effective communication skills with field teams, vendors, and internal stakeholders\n\n· Proficiency in estimating software, Bluebeam. Accubid/LiveCount, and MS Excel for pricing and analysis\n\n \n\nSupervisory Responsibilities\n\n· No direct reports\n\n· Provides guidance and support to Estimator I on takeoffs, pricing, and scope interpretation\n\n· Works under direction of senior estimators and chief estimator\n\n \n\n \n\nWork Environment/Physical Demands/Position Type and Expected Work Time\n\nWork Environment:\n\n· Operates with moderate independence in a fast-paced environment balancing bid deadlines\n\n· Regular interaction with clients, vendors, and internal teams\n\n· Frequent job-site visits for pre-bid walkthroughs and scope validation\n\nPhysical Requirements:\n\nThis role requires the physical and environmental demands outlined below, with or without reasonable accommodation. start and end times may vary based on bid dates and project requirements\n\n· Position requires flexibility to work extended hours, early mornings, evenings, or occasional weekends to support:\n\no Critical bid submissions\n\no Pre-bid meetings\n\no Bid review and coordination meetings\n\n· Schedule is driven by a combination of planned bid cycles, follow up requests/meeting and requires the ability to adjust priorities and respond quickly to changing demands\n\n· Occasional travel and off-site work required for pre-bid walkthroughs, jobsite visits, client meetings, and coordination with field operations;
