Company Overview:
1-800 Water Damage of Southeast Michigan is a restoration company working in the insurance repair industry.  It’s sister company, Pleasant Valley Building & Restoration, is a general contractor and concentrates on the rebuilding phase of the project.   Our customers experience property losses in the form of water damage, fire & smoke damage, and mold damage. We help homeowners and business owners clean up from these challenges by removing non-restorable materials, disinfecting and/or cleaning, and drying out structures where necessary.  With the help of Pleasant Valley Building, we help return their property to its original condition.  We are part of the 1-800 Water Damage franchise system and are one of the largest franchises in the nation.  Our team is fully vetted and background checked, IICRC-certified, and insured for your safety. 

 
Main Responsibilities: Route Marketer Role

• Build Relationships with Plumbers, Insurance Agents, Property Managers, Real Estate Agents and others that can refer their  customers to us.  
• Visit 10-15 businesses each day and build a relationship of trust and get agreement for these businesses to refer our services to their customers, friends and family.  This is a full-time route marketing position.  
• Generate customer jobs from these relationships.
• Update our CRM system after each visit and keep account data up to date, including referral company name and address information and their employee names and contact information.

 
Requirements:

• 5 Years’ Sales experience required.  Previous route marketing experience preferred.
• Fearless - Ability to walk into any business without fear and instantly connect with people.
• Be confident, have a positive attitude and be driven to succeed.
• Have the ability to easily ask closing questions and ask for a referral source’s business.  
• Be honest, hardworking, kind and compassionate.  Have a desire to help people.
• Professional in appearance in the way you dress.  Professional in the way you act, speak, and write.
• Technologically savvy.  Ability to understand and use apps on a phone, use a computer and/or iPad effortlessly and effectively.  All interactions with businesses and individuals must be documented immediately in our CRM.

 
Description:
Most of our work comes as a result of customers experiencing a “loss” at their home from fire & smoke damage, water damage, or mold damage.  These are not planned events.  Customers can be overwhelmed and of course want to get back to the way their home was before as soon as possible.  We need people who are empathetic to these situations and enjoy helping people.  We market to companies and organizations who hear about these losses firsthand.  This role is responsible for building a relationship of trust, where they trust 1-800 Water Damage of Southeast Michigan to help their customers out.  We have an excellent reputation.  We need someone who is confident and proud of that reputation and will tout us and strongly encourage businesses like insurance agencies and plumbing companies primarily to recommend our services.

 
The right candidate will be self-driven and understand that sales is a numbers game.  We are not selling by phone.  We are out meeting and visiting our referral sources. Plumber meetings typically begin by 7AM.  Other businesses such as insurance agents are typically open from 9-5.  That means we should be seeing our first agent by 9:30 am and our last appointment should be between 4-4:30pm.  The more people we regularly see, the more jobs we will get.  This is a full-time job, not part time.

Salary, commission, & bonus; Based on experience and business profitability.
