About This Role

This role is for a transitional teacher working with children aged 30 months to just under 3 years by September 1st.

The Teacher is a vital part of a collaborative teaching team, designing curriculum for 2s and 3s and overseeing daily classroom operations.

A successful Teacher must understand children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development and support their toilet training progress.

They will engage with children, lead lessons in centers, and foster a supportive learning environment.

This program is part of the Quality Counts Rating System, and the Teacher must adhere to its guidelines.

What You'll Do

• Ensure a healthy classroom environment - including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards and safety and security of children.
• Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions, progress reports, and parent-teacher conferences.
• Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.
• Lead by example; encourage teaching team success through modeling and coaching.
• Plan individual and group age-appropriate activities to actively engage children and encourage social, cognitive and emotional growth.
• Maintain accurate records, forms and files.
• Coordinate and implement educational curriculum by developing classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards

Requirements

• Must clear full background check and must pass health screening.
• A specific vision ability will be required including the ability to see up close and up to a certain distance, to see colors, have peripheral vision and depth perception.
• A strong understanding of child development, including the transitional mastering of skills of the toddler to the 3 year old.
• Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
• Must have the ability to take frequent walks, use hands and fingers, handle objects, tools or controls, talk to and hear voices at many levels. May also be required to kneel, bend, squat or crawl.
• Requirements include the ability to work well with others and to foster a team environment.
• Minimum of 6 months to 1 year of professional child care experience.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

• Associate's Degree in early childhood education or related field of study with a minimum of 30 Credits in ECE.
• Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
• ECD 101 plus college credits in ECE or related field.
